Buy a traditional English village for £25 million

A rare chance to become the lord of your own manor has arisen in a small Hampshire village. The Linkenholt estate is on the market for £25 million and includes over 2,000 acres of pastures and woodland, and the entire village of Linkenholt. This includes the cricket pavilion, an old school house, 21 village houses and cottages and a manor house. The only building not included is the 12th century church which does not belong to the sellers.

The estate was bought by Herbert Blagrave, who loved Linkenholt for its scenic beauty and renowned pheasant and partridge shoots. Upon his death in 1981, the estate transferred to the Herbert and Peter Blagrave Charitable Trust, which continues the work of Blagrave to assist injured jockeys and help able and disabled children to share in his passion for the countryside. The proceeds from the sale of the village will secure their future.

The estate has a history that predates the Domesday survey, and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The close-knit community, who currently occupy the homes, will remain as tenants following the sale and the Edwardian manor house will be the impressive home of the purchaser.

Sole agents of the sale, Jackson-Stops & Staff say that there has been a high amount of interest in the estate, so if you’ve got £25 million burning a hole in your pocket, this is the time to snap up a very rare opportunity indeed.
